USGS Real-Time River Conditions

The USGS provides a
phenomenal resource for fishermen, in the form of their “Real-Time Water Data
for the Nation”. Many of you may
already use this resource, or have viewed the information for a particular
river. This is a great tool for
planning trips, checking last minute or viewing any possible effects of rain,
snow melt or temperature on your favorite river. Follow the link below:

Once at the website, you can
select a state, and then one of many river monitoring sites. Data is available on some, or all, of these
parameters:
Discharge – in cubic feet
per second
Gage height – in feet
Water temperature – in
degrees Celsius
Dissolved oxygen –
unfiltered, in milligrams per liter
The data can be viewed for
anywhere between 1 – 31 days
